Log
IRCache operates a number of caching proxies for voluntary use by ISPs, corporations, and other organizations. These proxies make a log of the requests that they receive,
including client's IP address and URI requested.
IRCache makes sanitized versions of these logs available to researchers and others. The sanitization process involves replacing client IP addresses with ``random'' IP addresses,
and replacing URI query terms with it's MD5 hash value. Client IP addresses mappings are consistent within one day's log file, but the mapping changes from day-to-day.
Occasionally, IRCache receives reports of abuse from content providers who demand to know the identity of a user making certain requests. We do not identify offending users or
IP addresses to third parties. Instead, we take steps to make sure that the offending user is not allowed to make such requests through our system in the future.

Registration is required to gain access to our service. To register, you must provide us with a valid email address.
Your email address is never given to third parties, and never used for sending unsolicited email.
We may, from time to time, send you messages of an operational nature regarding our service.
Currently, access to our service is based on client IP addresses. Our cache configuration files are published on our web site, which means that anyone can view the list of
IP addresses which have access.

IRCache operates a ``cache tracker database'' so that cache operators can locate other caches near to them and possibly create local hierarchies and meshes. Participation in the
registration database is entirely voluntary. The database is searchable by anyone, and may contain information such as the cache administrator's email address.
